This book gives a good introduction to a number of the more common NZ trees, shrubs and smaller plants, including historical facts, as well as the plant descriptions. The concept of the bush as a house, together with the photographs and June Cohcrane’s delightful drawings adds to its appeal. Having been written with the primary to early high school students in mind it fills its own niche, one not catered for amongst the wealth of books we have on the native flora.
