Summary: In 1942, everyone wants a dad who's a hero. But only a few think Tom's dad is a hero. To most people he's an unpatriotic coward. Desperate to be accepted, unable to forget what his father taught him, Tom plays it safe, until he too has to make a stand. Suggested level: intermediate, junior secondary.
